Atlas Steel plans an integrated steelmaking and rebar complex at Suhar Industrial City, according to Oman Observer’s 31 October report. The proposed rolling mill is designed for 700,000 tonnes of reinforcing bar annually, alongside a melt shop with 720,000 tonnes of annual steelmaking capacity. The investment was announced on 28 October within a wider package of agreements overseen by Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones. The site is expected to cover approximately 440,000 square metres. These figures describe the planned facilities, rather than current rebar production.
